Nick’s Picks: Don’t Sweat Jaguars-Jets TNF with this FanDuel SGP

One week ago, fans of the Jaguars and Jets were dreaming of a white Christmas, thanks to long-range forecasts that predicted snow for tonight’s Thursday Night Football matchup. Instead, it’ll be a blue Christmas for the fans in the stands, getting soaked by Winter Storm Elliott. Regardless, there is a game tonight in East Rutherford, N.J., and an important one at that. For the winner, there will be visions of playoff football. For the loser, start getting those mock drafts ready. Who would’ve thought that this game would mean something when the schedule was released in May?

FanDuel even brought back the “No-Sweat” same game parlay promotion for tonight, meaning we have no choice but to find a winner. After all, who doesn’t need a little extra money for some last-minute shopping this time of year?

Travis Etienne (JAX) OVER 14.5 Receiving Yards (-110)

If there is one thing the Jets’ defense is susceptible to, it’s the running back out of the backfield. The Jaguars should have a difficult time trying to get the ball into their receivers against a secondary that has shut down some of the league’s best passing attacks this season. Instead, we’ll turn to the de facto rookie running back, Travis Etienne Jr., who will need to make some plays if Jacksonville wants to win this game. Etienne has only gone over this total in three of the last six games, but the Jets are allowing just under 38 receiving yards per game to opposing running backs. With the return of Quinnen Williams for New York, coupled with the loss of left tackle Cam Robinson for Jacksonville, expect this Jets’ defensive line to wreak havoc all night long. That means the Jags will have to get the ball out quickly, giving Etienne plenty of opportunity.

Betting Etienne to go over 14.5 receiving yards means that he needs to record at least 15 in the game. The -110 price means that you would need to wager $110 on a single bet to win another $100 if he goes over the total. A single bet is when you only wager on one outcome.

Garrett Wilson (NYJ) OVER 54.5 Receiving Yards (-110)

Everyone on earth and maybe Mars is predicting the Jets will run the ball all night long, keeping it out of the hands of Zach Wilson. While completely fair and expected, they’ll have to air it out at some point tonight. How does the rain affect Wilson? We know the receiver, Garrett Wilson, won’t be impacted. In a monsoon against the Bears just a few weeks ago, the rookie had five catches for 95 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Of course, that was with Mike White under center, but number 17 is capable of making plays with the ball in his hands, so let’s zig while everyone else zags. Wilson has also gone over this total by at least 23 yards in each of the last four games, including the last one with Wilson, the quarterback, back under center. Against a porous Jags defense, sign us up.

C.J. Uzomah (NYJ) OVER 8.5 Receiving Yards (-110)

If you looked at the Jets’ depth chart, you’d notice that Tyler Conklin is actually listed at TE1, but he’s had his fair share of issues this season with catching the football. That’s why we turn to someone who is technically a backup but is still playing around 50% of snaps. C.J. Uzomah has gone over this low total in three of the last four, and five of the last seven. He was also on the receiving end of two touchdowns from Wilson on Sunday. As someone who dressed up as Elf last season around Christmas time, it’s impossible to think he won’t have some holiday magic tonight.

New York Jets Moneyline (-130)

It feels like the Jets have played in bad weather all season long. Unfortunately for the Jets and their fans, Santa won’t be bringing them a domed stadium anytime soon, making for another miserable weather game tonight in the Meadowlands. Despite all that, the Jets are built for success in these games with poor conditions. On the other side, the Jaguars struggled with turnovers and efficiency in a similar game against the Eagles earlier this season. Trevor Lawrence didn’t handle the weather well in that game in Philadelphia, and against the Jets, he’ll have a hard time once again. In a must-win game, Gang Green will lean on the defense to get the job done. Expect Robert Saleh’s team to rebound after Sunday’s heartbreaker.

Jaguars-Jets SGP +1233

This week’s parlay pays +1233 meaning a $100 bet would pay an additional $1,233 if all four picks win. We are once again using FanDuel’s “No Sweat” same game parlay promo. Don’t forget to opt-in on the promotions page to find your max bet as well as other terms and conditions. As always, happy betting, and please play responsibly.

A same game parlay is when you are combining multiple outcomes from the same game to secure a larger potential payout. In order to win, we need to hit all four of these wagers. If the Jets win, but Uzomah finishes with five receiving yards, then the parlay will lose.

Hello there, I’m Nick Brinkerhoff, a New Jersey native with enough sarcasm and attitude to show I’m not from New York. Despite being Jersey born and bred, I’m a diehard New York sports fan (Jets, Nets, Rangers, Mets) who has seen plenty of losing, but my sports betting ability will hopefully continue to balance those scales. I have season tickets to the Jets but believe it to be more character building than bad asset management. Althoug
