The Green Bay Packers have a wide receiver problem. Well, at least they did have one before the NFL draft. Now, they’re in “wait and see” mode as the season rapidly approaches.
They’ll have to wait a little bit longer for rookie Christian Watson. Dealing with a knee injury, Watson does not have a return scheduled just yet, though the Packers aren’t “overly concerned” with him missing training camp. They will stress his long-term health and let him get acclimated during the regular season if need be. When he does see the field, he’ll be a deep threat with the speed and size to keep defenses conservative with their coverages.
DraftKings has Watson at +1100 to win Offensive Rookie of the Year, the seventh-best odds. A better value could be fellow packer Romeo Doubs’ +3500 line, as he has flashed repeatedly during camp and is on the fast track to starting in an Aaron Rodgers offense. If he gets the nod, he may not give it up.
