Vladimir Guerrero Jr. isn't Alone
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is one of the best players in all of baseball. He’s come incredibly close to winning the Triple Crown. He was the American League runner-up for its Most Valuable Player award in 2021. A year later, he would eliminate his biggest weakness, blossoming into a Gold Glove winner at first base.
The potential is out of this world and the present is awesome, too. Yet, there’s no guarantee he ends his career as the best to ever play under his family name.
Remember that “Jr.” that preceded his name? Yeah, his dad is Vlad Guerrero Sr., a Major League Baseball Hall of Famer and one of the most physically talented players of his generation. Senior ended his career with a .318 average, 449 home runs, an MVP, and eight Silver Sluggers. He led the league in intentional walks in five separate seasons and was famous for hitting a ball into play…that bounced before it reached the plate.
Let’s just say if Guerrero Jr. continues the career trajectory we’ve projected for him and stays fairly healthy, a ton of tandem records will reside in the family room.
How many home runs will they end up talking about at Christmas dinner?
