Shohei Ohtani Holds Red Sox To One Run Over Seven Frames

Shohei Ohtani

Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani had a strong outing against the Boston Red Sox on Thursday. He pitched seven innings and allowed four hits, two walks and one earned run while striking out six. He also mashed a two-run home run in the fifth inning of the game, his 12th home run of the year. Thursday’s start was a nice bounce-back start for Ohtani after he struggled in his previous outing against the New York Yankees on June 2, allowing four earned runs over three innings. Ohtani earned the win on Thursday and he is now 4-4 on the year with a 3.64 ERA, a 1.12 WHIP and a 31.7% strikeout rate. He’ll make his next start next Thursday against the Seattle Mariners.
