Tylor Megill Officially Set To Return On Friday

New York Mets at Washington Nationals

The New York Mets will welcome back Tylor Megill to the starting rotation on Friday when he’ll start against the Los Angeles Angels. Megill got off to a fast start in 2022, and has done an admirable job filling in for the injured Jacob deGrom. He’s been on the injured list since May 11 due to biceps tendinitis and made a rehab start at Double-A Binghamton this past Sunday.

Megill pitched 3 2/3 innings and allowed three hits, no walks and two earned runs while striking out five. The 26-year-old has made a total of seven starts with the Mets this year and he’s gone 4-2 with a 4.41 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP.

The Mets starting rotation has been struggling as of late with injuries mounting to both Megill and ace Max Scherzer. Since Scherzer’s injury the Mets starting pitching ERA stands at 5.28, which is bottom third in the league.
