If Austin Ekeler ever wrote an autobiography, the title should be, “Only the Strong Survive.
From not getting a single Division I scholarship offer to not getting drafted, the 5-foot-10, 220-pound running back is always getting over looked. Heck, after scoring 20 touchdowns and piling up
1,558 all-purpose yards last season, he was still left off a survey of NFL execs that voted on the league’s Top 10 running backs.
It takes a strong man to not flinch in the face of such disrespect which is exactly what Ekeler is. He’s nicknamed Pound-For-Pound, of PFP by teammates because of his astonishing achievements in the weight room. He’s squatted 500 pounds and benched 300. He does one-armed pullups yet runs a 4.43 40.
So, go ahead: Overlook Ekeler at your own peril. He knows only the strong survive.
