Was Cameron Jordan Drafted Twice?
Cameron Jordan was a first-round pick in the 2011 NFL draft by the New Orleans Saints. Groundbreaking, I know.
Certainly this was knowledge every team had, right? There's no way a team could possibly mix Jordan up with a similarly-named athlete.
Well, just like the show "The League" depicted in the form of a fantasy draft, the Cleveland Browns did just that. In the fourth round, two days after Jordan was selected, he received a phone call from Cleveland, telling him he was about to be selected. The Browns were actually drafting tight end Jordan Cameron, but the fog of dysfunctional war disoriented the front office enough to make one of the silliest phone calls in league history.
"I mean, I'll take two signing bonuses," joked Jordan. "But I refuse to go to Cleveland."
