Chris Godwin Got His Wish
There are few things more important for a wide receiver than who is throwing them the football. For Chris Godwin, the chance to upgrade from Jameis Winston to Tom Brady seemed like a pipe dream, and he was able to watch it inch closer to reality in real time.
When it was revealed that Brady was down to the Los Angeles Chargers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Godwin was excited, but expected him to head home to California.
In fact, he wasn't sure Brady was coming even once the move was announced. It took a text message conversation to pinch him and let him know he wasn't dreaming. Of course, Brady, a Michigan product, had some jokes to share upon his arrival.
"I won't hold it against you that you're a Penn State guy," said Brady. He would go on to share his excitement with Godwin and congratulate him on his recent engagement. Sometimes dreams do come true.
