Well, this is awkward.
The Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys are bitter rivals. Bitter with a capital “B.”
The Cowboys won the NFC East last season. The Eagles made the playoffs. The Cowboys crushed the Eagles, 41-21, and 51-26 last season so you know the Philadelphia franchise is looking for payback with a capital “P.”
Dallas is known as Big D. The Eagles have a Big D in tight end Dallas Goedert, who got his first name from his father who is a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. Since Goedert entered the NFL from South Dakota State he is seventh in receiving yards by a tight end. And that was while he splitting time with Zach Ertz, who is fourth on that list.
"Me and [QB] Jalen [Hurts] have been having a really good connection throughout last year, throwing in the summers, throwing now,” Goedert told reporters. “It's just great to be working with these guys, getting lots of reps... hopefully it pays off once the season comes."
The Eagles traded Ertz to the Cardinals last season meaning this will be Goedert’s first season as the dominant tight end in Philadelphia. The Cowboys (+115) are favored to win the division. The Eagles (+185) are next.
So here’s the awkward part of this red-hot dynamic. Where do you sit if you’re watching a game at the Goedert house?
