An Unexpected Switch Saved Alexander's Career
The vast majority of NFL players have a long, winding road to the league with pivotal conversations, experiences, games, and so on. But for the most part, if you make it to the league, you were the best at that position for every team you've ever been on.
For Jaire Alexander, that wasn't exactly the case. In high school, Alexander was a star receiver before transferring to Rocky River High School. He wasn't exactly open-minded to the change.
"Corner?" questioned Alexander. "I play offense."
Thankfully, his high school coach, Willie Crite Jr. convinced him to switch it up. He argued he was a good receiver, but he could be a legitimately great corner. From there, the rest was history.
Alexander never forgot that moment in time. He honored his coach by inviting him to the NFL draft's festivities.
