Agreed to a five-year, $70 million deal with Cowboys, 2022
Signed a five-year, $70 million deal with Broncos, 2022

There are two facts we know about Broncos edge rusher Randy Gregory:
- He used to love to smoke marijuana.
- There’s no such thing as a handshake deal.
The two go, well, hand in hand.
In his five seasons in Dallas, Gregory was suspended multiple times for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. The Cowboys stuck with him. Gregory became a free agent after the 2021 season. The two sides reportedly agreed on a five-year, $70 million deal that included $28 million in guaranteed money.
The next day Gregory was on his way to Denver, which offered an almost identical deal. Why the change of heart? The Cowboys reportedly wanted language inserted into the deal that would have protected them should Gregory return to his days as connoisseur of marijuana.
Gregory is poised for a monster season in the, uh, Mile High City. He will line up opposite Bradley Chubb. Gregory has never had more than six sacks in a season. With Chubb on the other side, you can bet that Gregory might have a season-high (oops) in sacks. Just get that wager in writing.
